Quarry Beach

Quarry Beach. Accessed via a single-track road, via the coastal path or from The Warren, this wide sandy beach is simply stunning. Enjoy a paddle or dip in the shallow waters or simply sit on the rocks and watch the boats go by. It is a great spot to enjoy the sunrise and at low tide you will see the frequently photographed iconic remains of the old jetty.

The Harbour Beach

When visiting Abersoch Harbour Beach at low tide you can get onto the beach a few ways:

  • Down the promenade ramp (push chair friendly but a bit bumpy!)
  • Down the slipway (take care, it can be very green and slippy)
  • Down the slipway across from Manana Restaurant.

At low tide you can explore rock pools and the inner harbour, as well as being able to walk across to The Warren.

The Warren Beach

The Warren Beach is a fantastic long sandy beach that runs from Abersoch's outer harbour right up to the tip of Trwyn Llanbedrog (the headland). The Abersoch end of the beach is referred to locally as the Fach - and there is parking just outside Fach caravan park and access though the dunes oppisite.

Machroes Beach

Machroes is a long, sandy beach located to the south of the town of Abersoch, and backed by the Abersoch Golf Club. You can walk form Abersoch Main Beach or it can be accessed by driving to Bwlchtocyn then heading down to the car park at the bottom of the headland.

Porth Neigwl

Porth Neigwl or Hell's Mouth is a beautiful 4 mile long beach facing south west and directly out to the Irish Sea. With this the beach gets the brunt of any south westerly swells coming up from the Atlantic between Cornwall and southeast Ireland and can produce some of the most consistent waves in the UK. The beach attracts thousands of surfers every year.

IMPORTANT SAFETY NOTE: Bathing is dangerous here, as on any beach that gets surf, with strong undertows and cross currents.
